A Walk on the Wild Side

During the summer of 2003 young people from the Wildmill
Community took part in a photographic project to reflect
to a wider audience how they see the area in which
they live, both the good and the bad.
They felt that there were "no
activities for young people",
that the older generation didn't trust them, and that the older
generation were intimidated by the young people on the estate.
"Give us teenagers a chance!" was a statement by one
person
while the reply from another was "They always give us a
chance, really we should give them one."
During the project, interaction between the group and people within the community taught them to have more respect for other people's different viewpoints about life on the estate.
The group said "people shouldn't judge Wildmill, until they learn to see Wildmill".
