Animation Department

Wishing on a Star animation

At Valley and Vale we have toyed with animation for a number of years, but recently this department has developed and progressed to produce a number of great little films and projects. Tim Smith is now in charge of the animation department and his passion for this art form means that the future will see many more films being made.

Although it is very labour intensive the rewards are great and it allows a freedom of expression of ideas that can restrict other art forms. Much of the animation produced today is computer generated but here at Valley and Vale we like to use more traditional methods such as clay figures, sequenced drawings and 'cut-out' characters which give films a uniqueness that no computer could ever match.

It goes without saying that animation is hugely popular with children but it is also very popular with older groups and we hope to offer this art form to a lot more clients in the future. Tim is particularly interested in making animated films which explore history and folklore but the sheer versatility of animation means that anything is possible in the future.

Alternatively, visit our animation projects archive section which gives details of projects from 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004 and 2003. Animation can be a slow process so our archives are not as full in this department as in some others.
